If your reaction to that was “duh,” you might have forgotten that recent studies and surveys seemed to indicate otherwise, as surprising as that sounds. As we previously reported, a study by the University of Chicago Booth School of Business found that checking social media websites like Facebook or Twitter is a temptation that’s hard to resist, even more than sex. But a newly released study by the University of Canterbury in New Zealand reveals that making love is the most enjoyable human activity — even more than checking Facebook. “Psychologists have proposed that individuals may seek to increase their well-being through three main behavioral orientations; via pleasure, via engagement, and via meaning,” said Carsten Grimm, the lead researcher.
