Black Friday Shoppers Mob Victoria's Secret? Is Underwear The Next Big Thing?

Black Friday is upon us again, sounds ominous doesn't it? So what't the deal here? Is Black Friday a good thing or a bad thing? Well historically there have been some events that had the word black attached to it that were not all good things. Lets start with the "Black Plague", yeah that little event killed off most of Medieval Europe, so that can't call that a good thing. So what is with the concept of taking a  word like "Black" and then attaching it to a day so that it sound like something we want to avoid at all costs and then "spinning it" from a marketing standpoint to represent a positive? You know you just have to love marketing, or at least shopping.

Anyway I do admire it form a marketing standpoint and the thought that some marketing exec somewhere who invented the concept is watching happily as a feeding frenzy of shopping that would make a shark swimming in bloody water seem like child's play
