If making money in your business isn’t EASY, you ain’t doing it right…

Ok… …this might sound a bit ‘off‘ from what a lot of people are saying, but I PROMISE you, that what I’m saying here is not only true, but when you really get it – I don’t think you’ll ever struggle to have money in your life again. Let me define this for you… When I say that making money is easy – I’m not saying it doesn’t involve work – what I am saying is that there should be no struggle involved in the process, and when you understand the flow of money and how to create income on demand, your income will ‘flow’ instead of having that feeling that you’re beating your forehead against a wall with nails in it… Here’s how this post got inspired: I was in an airport the other day, and got talking to a speech pathologist who is traveling through Costa Rica with some friends for the next month or two.  After 2 or 3 minutes, she asked me what I do for a living, and I just decided to tell her the truth… “I’m a drug dealer.” After she got nervous, I laughed and said ‘kidding, seriously – what I do is EVEN better – I get paid to live like I want all day.’ We then started talking about economics, the government, the Federal Reserve System, and how the internet and instant communication fits into the future of the world. (well, OK – it was me talking and her being bewildered by foreign concepts that almost no one understands…) It became very clear to me in about 10 minutes, that this 35 year old gal had NO IDEA how the flow of money worked in the world, and it got me thinking… …I wasn’t really able to create income on demand until I learned how the flow of money worked – and once I understood HOW it worked – I got rid of a bunch of silly concepts that were holding me back from creating what I wanted to create in my life. Since that time – I’ve consistently made around $30,000 per month, and sometimes a lot more from my various businesses – and honestly, with very little struggle, it just ‘flows’. So what the HECK did I learn? Well, I was raised in a Mormon family, went on a mission, went to public school, my Grandpa was a University president for UAF in Fairbanks, Ak – and BOTH of my parents were exceptional students and products of the ‘system’ of the baby boomers… …all of this nonsense resulted in me (along with the entire baby boomer generation – WHICH by the way, isn’t as true anymore, they are waking up to the real nature of what’s been happening to them in a BIG way right now) not understanding AT ALL the truth behind creating income. I was raised with the philosophy that if I worked hard – I would be paid a fair wage for my labor – whether it is mental labor, as a product of my intellect and education, or whether it was physical labor (as a product of skipping school too much… lol) In any case – it took me A LONG TIME to figure out that what I just described has absolutely nothing to do with how much money you’re going to have.  Let me give you an example of how my personal stupidity resulted in a lot of poverty in my life: I got involved in Amway in 2002, right after I was done being a Mormon missionary for 2 years in the British midlands.  When I was a missionary – I had paid for all of my bills 2 years in advance, and the finances were managed by someone who was good with numbers (a mission accountant, essentially).  My bills were paid from a central location that I didn’t manage, electricity, land-line (we weren’t allowed to have cell phones) and then about 40 pounds was direct deposited into my bank account every 2 weeks that was for ‘extra food’ when people didn’t feed us.  (true story). So I was completely free from financial burden, had my needs met all the time, never knew how much anything costs – and could focus on mission work (the point of the accountant guy – usually one of these guys manages about 300 missionaries). I don’t know if I consciously thought this – or if it was an unconscious belief – but for some reason, when I got in Amway – I thought if I just ‘worked hard’ that I would have money mysteriously appear in my bank account. NOT the case! It’s funny – but if you’re an employee and you just ‘work hard’ you’re pretty much guaranteed a set wage as long as you have a job and perform – but employee’s rarely think about where the money for that wage comes from, that it has to come from several things: 1.  Money changing hands from one person to another 2.  Profit being generated from the difference between cost of goods and the revenue created. 3.  BAMB!  There’s now money to pay the employees, and hopefully some left over at the end of the month for the boss!  (otherwise, you ain’t going to have that job for long) Let me tell you the important part of that scenario though – that is the KEY indicator of a successful business: 1.  MONEY CHANGING HANDS You see, when I was in Amway, I worked REALLY HARD – the problem was, I didn’t understand that working hard has nothing to do with how much money you make.  Let me explain the formula in a little more detail, and I’m going to show you how most people get hung up: The formula is this: Person A has money, and gives it to Person B in exchange for something he wants. Here’s the thing most people don’t get (it’s not that they don’t understand it – it’s that they never really think about it).  To get the money from Person A – Person B doesn’t have to actually be involved in that process AT ALL. ?!?!?!?!?! WHAT?!!?!?!?! YOU MEAN I DON’T JUST HAVE TO WORK HARD TO GET MONEY!@!!@!! Nope – in fact, how hard you work has nothing at all to do with how much money you are going to have in your life – how much money you’re going to have has literally only one key factor – how many people give you money, how much they give you, and what your profit margins are after you pay for everything. When I figured that out – I started asking the next key question: “Gosh dangit – how then do I get lots of people to give me lots of money – and what do I give them in exchange that’s so valuable that they’ll KEEP giving me money over, and over again???” Lol.  Kind of funny in one way – but thinking along those lines let me to a fascinating discovery – there are only actually a FEW WAYS of getting people to give you money!  (legally, anyways – we’ll throw out gun-point robbery and drug dealing for now)  All you have to do is pick one of these ways (they have different levels of pain and work depending on the method) and BAMB!  Let’s make you some easy cash now! Method #1 (The Stupid Way):  Trade your manual labor (either mental or physical) for money your boss gives you, and just expect that it will keep working.  The reason this way sucks, is that you’re intimately involved in the money-getting process, meaning that you have to show up to get paid. Method #2 (The Smarter, But Not So Smart Way): Sell stuff to people that they don’t want or need, by getting really good at selling.  This method can work to make lots of cash now – but the problem is, you’re still intimately involved in the process and are trapped – just like the employee – and since people don’t really want your stupid product, you won’t have any recurring purchases and selling will eventually burn you out. Method #3 (Getting There – But Not Quite The Greatest Money Getting Method): Find a group of people who want something, and find a way to sell your product or service to them by leveraging what THEY WANT, to sell them what YOU WANT.  This method actually works quite well if you know how to sell, but the problem with it is, there’s always a limited market with this method – if you have to convince people to do something that they don’t quite want, you’ve always got to be coming up with crazy ways to sell it to them.  Although this isn’t my MAIN METHOD of earning income – I still use it all the time to sell valuable products and services to people who don’t know they want them… (yet) Method #4 (ALMOST the greatest money making method ever, but not quite): Find out a product that a lot of people already want, and find the cheapest, best way of delivering it to them.  Man, this method just rocks – the reason?  No real selling required, you can acquire customers and keep them cheaper and longer if you give great value – PLUS, you can also upsell them products that they didn’t know they needed yet.  However, this method still, although somewhat leveraged, is a high paying job – however, it’s a relatively easy one if you manage it properly.  But unfortunately, if you stop working, your income stops, which leads us to… Method #5:  The BEST Way Of Money Getting In The History Of The World! Are you ready for this?  Ok, grab a pen…. “Find a people who want a product with high profit margins and repeat purchases, find the best way of selling it to them WITHOUT you being involved in the process at all…” I just had an orgasm. (brb) Ok, got my new shorts on – the cool thing about this method is that once you set it up – people give you money without you doing anything!  Now that’s cool! That means, you can make a ridiculous income, live wherever you want in the world, do what you love, and money just flows into your account on autopilot – with no hard work, effort, or energy involved. That’s why I like Network Marketing (when done properly) So here’s the couple of questions I have for you: 1.  Are you trying to sell something that people just don’t want, or do you just suck at selling it? 2.  Is there high enough profit in what you do to eventually outsource it so you don’t have to continue managing something for the rest of your life? 3.  Is there a big enough market to sustain your dream lifestyle? 4.  If you want – you’re welcome to send money my way, any time – just click on any of the images that 'glow' when you hover over them. Empower Network Review – Is Empower A Sure Bet Money Flood Or Internet Disaster?

Empower Network, hum…. So the question is, can Empower Network be the “Next Big Thing”? Well maybe or maybe not. So before I go on to answer that burning question I guess I should digress here and give you a quick overview of exactly what the Empower Network actually is, and what it is not. Empower Network is the brainchild of internet marketers David Wood and David Sharpe who in search of a different and unique business model ended up combining aspects of affiliate marketing, major product launch, greed, fear of loss, and a quasi MLM type commission that employs multiple levels within its structure but passes income upline using a comp plan variation borrowed from direct sales models known a pass up system. Confused yet? Well there is more, and by the way what is Empower Network actually selling? Is there actually a product here or is this just another variation of a pyramid money transfer system? Wow! Wash my mouth out with soap! I can’t even believe those words came out of my mouth! Look I am not a MLM hater, I have been in the MLM industry for over 25 years and have been a 7 figure earner in that industry for many years and I love the industry. But there is also the dark underbelly of pure scam that hovers on the edge of the home based business industry, and there are always people who find some new way to push the envelope with a new product or business model and it kind of leaves you scratching your head trying to decide what side of the fence a new gangbuster deal falls on. That’s kind of where I was when I looked at Empower Network. On its surface Empower Network is a pure money deal, and like it or not money deals attract people. I mean we are all in business to make money right? Then there is the “wave effect” in marketing where some new program or “new great thing” hits the marketplace and the early adopters all jump on board and then just because a lot of people are joining other people join just so they are not left behind. The thought is Wow! Everyone else is doing it so I better get on board! But is there actually more to Empower Network than just a shell that allows you to make money by enrolling others who enroll others who enroll others and then sit at the beach while the automated pass up system deposits money to your merchant account? Well sort of.

So let me break it down for you in a form that’s easy to understand, however it still may be hard to categorize Empower Network since this is an entirely new business model. Empower Network is an affiliate product launch that has at its core 3 products. The core product is a self replicating Wordpress blog that is already optimized for SEO (search engine optimization), so that when you write blog posts the search engines have a better chance of finding your content and ranking you on Google or the other search engines. Now optimizing a WordPress blog for SEO is not that hard if you know what you are doing but for those who do not, Empower Network shortcuts the technology learning curve pretty dramatically so this is a good thing. This part of the program will cost you a basic membership fee of $25 per month.

Empower Network Inner Circle

The next Empower Network product is an online training system called the “Inner Circle” that contains several recorded trainings by David Sharp and David Wood covering subjects such as: Down & Dirty Marketing Secrets, Hypnotic Selling Secrets, How to close 95% of your prospects, and other online success trainings. Now this part of the program will cost you $100 per month on top of the $25 per month you are already paying. So is the “Inner Circle” actually worth what you pay for it? Now just to keep it in perspective you should keep in mind that these guys know their stuff. David Wood and David Sharp are both very accomplished internet marketers. David Wood in particular even though my competitive nature makes it hard to admit, is probably one of the most talented markers working online today. Also I believe the intent of the Empower Network founders is to keep adding to this online library by sharing the success and strategies of other successful members using the system so the curriculum should grow. The next product in the system is the “Costa Rica Intensive” training. This is a high def recording of a live 2 day training intensive that David Wood recently did in Costa Rica where about a dozen people paid $3000 each to get training from David Wood on how to create the same type of magic in the online market as he does. This Empower Network product will cost you a one time payment of $500.

The Empower Network Compensation Plan

Now all major product launches in the world of internet marketing share pretty much the same characteristics, they are all “How to” info products or trainings where the promoter is basically telling you “I have made millions online using this system or approach and if you pay me I will show you exactly how I did it” The idea here of course is that if you buy the training and study the material you can do the same thing they do and of course have the same financial success. Now this is a valid market, and it has been done in business just about forever and people will in fact pay big money for key information especially if they see it as a missing link to their financial success or if they just want a step by step “how to” guide rather than trying to figure it out themselves. I have never had a problem with paying for training, specific business models, or coaching. Heck in my last conventional business I paid over $35,000 for a license fee and 3 day training intensive on how to setup a successful banking service company. Now the online marketing world has caught on to this model and there are lots of people out there selling training products, heck I do it myself. Also the stakes are much higher with the internet mixed in. I mean there are probably over 1.8 billion people online today and if you can tap even the smallest fraction of that traffic and provide a product they want you can make millions with just your laptop. Today there are many talented marketers who have done just that, and then they turn around package that system into a training, and sell it in mass generating additional millions in profit. So is David Wood in that same league? Humm.. well if he is not there yet, he is pretty close. However, his Empower Network training is not a specific approach but rather a money making system wrapped around some general core training products that can teach you general online marketing success principals. The Empower Network Compensation Plan This is actually what is attracting all the attention. When you enroll as a Empower Network member, you get a replicated sales presentation funnel that you can then send your prospects to. When those prospects take the tour and listen to David Wood and David Sharpe’s presentation, they are then offered the chance to buy the monthly membership to the blogging platform for $25 a month. If they purchase that, then the up-sell process begins and they are next offered the opportunity to buy in at the next level, the “Inner Circle” training for an additional $100 per month. If they purchase that, then there is yet another up-sell that offers them the Costa Rica training intensive for a one time fee of $500. The profit potential on the Empower Network system is actually pretty amazing since for every qualified member that buys into your system you could be making $125 a month in re-occurring commissions and also a nice $500 one time bonus commission. Now the presentation constantly stresses the fact that you will be receiving 100% commissions on all your sales, but as the up-sell makes very clear, to receive commissions on your $25 orders you must of course be active on the $25 membership, and if you want to receive the $100 re-occurring commissions you must be also active at that level or the sale your system makes for you will roll up to your sponsor. The same also goes with the $500 product. So first the sales presentation appeals to your money making side by offering you a 100% commission, (OK let’s be honest here and just call it greed), then the fear of loss clicks in when you realize that if you don’t upgrade to the higher levels you are going to miss those commissions. Now for the leverage… There is another huge greed kicker here since when you enroll people in your system, and then they bring customers in, every 2^nd , 4^th 6^th member they enroll, and then every 5^th one after that ends up passing up to you and you receive the 100% commissions on those sales also. This pass-up keeps going since the person that you passed up will in turn pass-up their 2^nd, 4ht, and 6^th sale etc, this pass-up structure actually goes down to infinity so the income potential is pretty huge if you sponsor a lot of people and they do the same. So in effect you get the leverage of an MLM style comp plan with an affiliate “info product”. Can we say Wow!…..

Join The Empower Network Now! > Join Now!

  Now of course if you have ever sat through a MLM presentation before and watched a pro draw the circles on a white board and then run the famous arithmetic progression…. …. So if you get 2, and they get 2, and so on…. you magically have 3125 people in your group in just a few months. That’s if your team members actually sponsor other people, and so on. Yes of course the potential with a multi level comp plan is staggering, which is what draws so many opportunity seekers into the industry every year, but of course in practice things usually don’t progress exactly the same as in the example. This is the same hypnotic power that the Empower Network comp plan has. So OK Marc……get to the point, is this a thumbs up or thumbs down deal? Well I have to say there are things I like about it and things I don’t. Let’s start with the don’t likes. I don’t like the Empower Network introduction video presentation very much. I see many online marketers today that when selling their product, they somehow feel the need to oversell and then take way to long getting to the point, and David Sharpe is very guilty of this. Sales overkill just annoys me, but of course the Empower Network system is working and they generated over $500,000 in sales in just the first 10 days, so probably just ignore that comment. I also don’t like the way they keep referring to the fact that you get 100% commissions but then seem to ignore the fact that if you are passing up every 2^nd, 4^th, 6^th etc that is not really 100% its actually more like 50% on the first 6 and then 80% thereafter. Now of course you do receive 100% on the commissions you actually are qualified to receive but not on all your traffic or generated sales. Also on the flip side you do receive the benefit of those pass-ups also and if you get a lot of people going the income effect it generates can be huge. Then there is the avoidance of the real reason they developed the Empower Network system, which is of course to make money. The presentation and marketing copy state that it’s kind of a giving back thing, and they just want to help people, but come on guys, if you are at the top of this … I hate to say the word, pyramid sales structure and you personally sponsored several hundred top online marketers (which you did), then there is a shit load of money you are making with those pass-ups from a very large front line of members that you brought in. Now to coin a David Wood phrase from his “NLP” style sales structuring , …….“and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that”….. but lets be a little more transparent about it, it’s a brilliant idea and there is nothing wrong with making money. OK so I got that off my chest so now on to the things I like. Look it’s a “Wave Effect” deal and whether you approve or not, lots of money is made in them, so either take a flyer and surf the wave or get your binoculars and watch it recede into the distance while you think about all the money you could have made. It’s an ambitious, aggressive, very creative business model and kudos to you guys for bringing it off. In the end I can’t tell you whether or not this deal has legs or how long it will last, but wave effect deals have a way of becoming viral and I am sure there will be some huge money made with Empower Network even in the short term. Keep in mind that income potential aside, there is actually a real product here. So if you are having trouble making the “buy” decision just based on “can I make a ton of money if I invest $625 to buy all the levels”, then take a look at the Empower Network training and tools and decide if what you are buying actually is worth the money. In the end the reason I bought, yes that’s right I am also on that wave, was because I have a feeling that quite a bit of money can be made with this product system and at a minimum I was more than willing to pay $625 to get my hands on 10 hours of David Woods “Costa Rica Intensive” training. Look I know David personally, and my competitive nature aside, they guy is good, so I was happy to be able to get my hands on that training material, and of course I have no doubt that a lot of other people will buy it also. Now keep in mind that the most successful online business model is to develop multiple streams of income, so even if you are excited about this and join, I would not drop your other business marketing efforts such as your primary MLM to focus all you attention here. Focus on the Empower Network for what it actually is, a really great affiliate income stream that could make you a lot of money. Now one final note here, if you have never been successful generating leads online before, Empower Network is not your magic solution. It is simply a product with a lot more sex appeal than most others and that makes it much easier to sell. To make the big money with Empower Network you will still actually have to learn some quick and easy online marketing strategies like PPC or Banner advertising like I train my group in My Lead System Pro to use, or utilize some of my favorite offline strategies such as “Voice Broadcasting” and using tools such as iBuzzPro to push some aggressive lead traffic to people already in the MLM industry. If you want to generate leads quickly and you are not quite ready to learn online marketing approaches, Voice Broadcasting is a quick and easy "low tech" way to get into action and start generating leads within 24 hours. There are many good offline strategies that I have used for years to drive big traffic, you just need a little coaching on how to implement them. Before I started online marketing I was sponsoring well over 10 new reps a month just using a unique voice broadcasting approach with some specialized scripts. Now the Empower Network product is ideal to target people in the MLM industry since it can provide them with a much quicker cash flow than their traditional standard MLM can.

Wow, there is a lot to cover here, MLM Success, an update on Empower Network, and generating 368,000 leads a month. Anyway I am going to tie all this together so just hang with me for a few.

Now you may not have heard about Empower Network yet but at the viral rate it is growing through the online marketing world its a safe bet to say that you will very soon.

Now I originally did a review on the Empower Network a few months ago after its initial launch in November of 2011 and since then I would have to say the program has really come of age and has worked out almost all of their initial launch glitches.

However as this very high profit online marketing tool makes its way through the online world the bigger question is can you really make that much money with Empower network,  and should you join the ranks of other MLM opportunity seekers who are using this unique business model to jump start their failing bank accounts.

First I wanted to talk to you today about MLM success and what it really takes to get there. Now you know of course from my blog that I am a pretty big fan of the Top Tier MLM business model because I honestly think it’s a more user friendly business model than a Standard MLM especially in today’s transitional MLM market.

Now don’t get me wrong, I have made millions with Standard MLM’s and I am a huge fan of the massive leverage and income potential the average person can achieve using the network marketing business model, and of course there are a lot of great companies out there today that are really smoking.

So I am not here to rain on your parade if you are promoting a Standard MLM,  I just want to throw a few facts and options on the table that you may not be aware of that can accelerate and enhance what you are already doing.

 

Success In A Standard MLM Is A Time Related Function

First of course is that if you are using a standard MLM business model to achieve MLM Success, you already know that even with exciting products, it takes time to build the duplication in your downline necessary to get your organization large enough to get to those magical 10,000 a month checks.

That’s just a fact, and although some people get really lucky in their business building efforts and get there quicker, the bottom line is that luck aside, success in a standard MLM is a time related function because you need about 7000 to 10,000 people in your downline to get those checks going, and unless you are planning on bringing them all in yourself, (wow what a great thought) you have to rely on duplication and that is what takes the time.

Now there are business building strategies I can teach you that will pretty much guarantee that you actually achieve your income goals in 12 months or so but past a certain point there is really no way to push it. Heck as good as I am at high volume lead generation it took me a little over a year to get my income up to $15,000 a month in my first network marketing company (see NuSkin Review). Top Tier MLM Models Have Upfront Cash Flow But Cost MoreNow with the Top Tier MLM business model, the advantage is that you make more every time you sign someone up, so instead of a $100 fast start bonus, you can make anywhere from $1000 to $10,000 or more (see Wealth Masters International and Family IQ)  so recruiting the same number of distributors in fact makes you thousands of times more income on the front end. That’s why it’s referred to as the GPT or get paid today business model.

Now most people I talk to about this business model are pretty excited once they understand its power and they tend to see it as the key element that has been missing from their financial success model, however sometimes the obstacle is that they just can’t afford to buy in at the level they need to really generate the big bucks in a Top Tier MLM.

Now there is another option, and I wanted to make you aware of a business model that I think is the next best thing to promoting a Top Tier MLM, and that is very unique and highly leveraged online marketing model called Empower Network.

Now Empower Network is not an MLM, so if you are currently promoting some other company this is not going to compete with it.  Empower Network is actually more of lead generation and training system based on blogging and it is of course a generic platform that can be used to generate leads for any company.

 Now the killer in trying to turn on this lead faucet is that just setting up and SEO optimizing a Wordpress blog in an undertaking in itself, and then getting one ranked so that it actually shows up on search engines is also a pretty major task filled with learning curves.

Yes You Can

Well it was a combination of things that caused my train of thought to move in this direction. First, it was my father’s birthday a few weeks ago, but there was no birthday cake or candles because he has been gone for 38 years but I did remember him and I was proud. My father’s name was Harry, and he gave me a gift I know I can never repay, he gave me the gift of belief. Belief in myself and the idea that I could accomplish anything I chose to, that there were no limits to what you could achieve if you simply decided to make it so. Like captain Piccard in Star Trek “The Next Generation” used to say..........   “Make it so number 1”   It was not like he handed it to me one day and said  “Marc here’s a box of belief, hang on to it”,  no, he did it by simply being who he was, by the example of his life.   Harry was an exceptional man, born in the coal mining region of Illinois, he was the younger of 10 other siblings and one day there was a mine cave in and fearing one of his brothers was dead went to his dad and told him he was leaving, that the mine was not going to be his future. His understanding father gave him $20 and told his older brother Mitch to go with him and off my dad went to California and his future. He had about an 8^th grade education, but put himself through night school to graduate high school and then moved into the automotive industry. He ended up working his way into a manufacturing company as a salesman, took the company over and then went on to develop 22 patents on automotive and brake systems for cars. He ended up with a pretty large company called the "Barrett Equipment Company" that he later sold to a huge publically traded company and then retired.  

All this with an 8^th grade education, some night school, and no formal engineering degree.   I am totally awed… What a guy!   The example of his life has always awed and stuck with me. It provided me with a template for my own.     What it showed me by example, was that we can accomplish anything we wish to, that anything is possible for us if we want it and are willing to pay the price.   Now even though he was enormously successful, he never wore his success to impress people, he was just regular guy. I guess because of this I never felt his shadow on my life as I was growing up. I never had to prove myself or try to be better than him.   There was only the shining example of his life and the very clear lesson he left me with.   Yes you can….   He never told me what to do, he just showed me what was possible.   I thank God for my father and for the possibilities in life….   Now here is the point I was getting to. This morning I watched a YouTube video of Will Smith, the actor talking about life and success. He spoke about talent and about craft. He said that many times people look at people like him and assume his success is due to some gift of talent. He can be successful where they cannot because he has this talent he was born with. Then he described his craft which is acting and said that it is never enough to have talent if you don’t develop and work on your craft, if you don’t study and develop and master the skills you need to make the talent work. In short he worked his butt off to develop his acting skills.   I know it was the same with my father, none of it comes easy to any of us, it may seem that way at times but the solid core of truth is that it’s work.   I guess it’s about not only finding our path, but having the belief to hold on to the glimmer of hope and vision that we see somewhere ahead of us, and then never letting go while we grind and polish it to the finely honed diamond of success. I guess my message here is that you probably wonder if success is really worth the journey…..   Well I smile as I write this….   I think you can see what’s in my heart

MLM Leads And Why You Don’t Have Any

Here is a stark statistic for you, 90% of the people who enter the world of Network Marketing will fail because they just don't understand the secret of how to find MLM Leads. Is it really that difficult to find MLM leads? Is there some mystical secret to it that only the select few million dollar earners are privy to, or are we starving in the land of plenty? Let’s face it, in the world of marketing, massive lead flow is the key to huge success. In any type of marketing business, with high lead flow we fly, without it we die. I attended an online marketing event, Live The Dream 2, in Orlando recently and heard one of the all time kings of internet marketing Daegan Smith talk about some of his past success in the world of online lead generation. Now I tend to think I am really good as far as cold market lead generation, heck it’s how I drove my MLM business to over $1.5 million a year in income, however listening to Daegan was a humbling experience. In one of Daegan Smiths online marketing ventures a year or two ago he was driving, at his high point, over 2600 leads a day! 2,600 leads a day? Holy crap! Sorry that was the pure uncensored thought that ran thought my mind as I listened to this master marketer describe his process. His face lit up as he described the mantra of online marketing by saying Traffic will set you free….. Well I guess so! The truth is that marketing teaches us that if we put information in front of enough people we can sell just about anything. However generating adequate MLM lead flow is one of the biggest struggles that the home based business entrepreneur or network marketer faces as they set off in a quest to generate the magic $10,000 a month income stream. MLM leads, where do you find them, how do you get them, and once you have them how do you convert them into happy team members that duplicate like crazy! Ah yes, this is the question of the hour isn’t it, and it is in fact what most people who enter the MLM business find themselves thinking about once they get down to the bottom of their warm market list. MLM is a seductive business to say the least. Most of us start into the MLM industry after being exposed to a presentation that outlines the huge benefits of having an ongoing residual income stream. Then there are the charts and graphs showing how easy it is to achieve that huge residual income stream just by using the power of leverage. The concept actually seems pretty simple, just make a short list of a few people you know, and tell them about this great concept and when they join you in the business, they just do the same thing and boom!   Through the magic of duplication you suddenly you have a rapidity growing down line and your financial future is assured. I mean the math is unquestionable, if you actually look at what happens if you just introduce 2 people to your MLM business, and they get two and so on through several cycles, you end up with several thousand distributors in your downline and even if 95% of them drop out you will still have over a thousand, and a downline that big that is actively ordering product will make you some big bucks. So where are the checks, and why isn’t it working? Well as most business people know, what works in theory sometimes works out quite differently in practice. In the real world of MLM success not every MLM lead you pull off that warm market hit list is going to be interested in what you are doing, fewer still are open to starting a home business, and even fewer if they actually sign up will order product or do anything with the business. So the average person enters the MLM business world not really understanding the true way it works, writes out a warm market MLM lead list, talks to a few friends and family and then promptly drops out since once they go through that list, they are out of MLM leads and have nowhere to go. What Went Wrong? Network marketing is a business and you have to treat it as such. You have to learn that success in any business is a function of selling your product and usually to sell your product you have to learn something about marketing. Can you imagine buying a franchise for $100,000 and then opening your business and then promoting your business only to a small list of friends and family? Not likely is it, with real money on the table you are going to get real serious about learning to advertise. So why is it then that we think network marketing is any different? Why do we believe that we can carve out a business empire and make over a million dollars a year by just taking to a few friends or family?

MLM Leads Success Rule #1 Use “The Law Of Large Numbers”

Marketing teaches us that in a broad sense, that no matter what we are selling, if we expose our product to enough people we will find someone who will buy it. MLM success works the same way, it’s a function of numbers, of high volume MLM lead generation. Now if you try to work the traditional MLM business model just using a list of friends and family, what are the chances that in that small group of 20 or 30 people that anyone will be interested in what you have to offer? Pretty slim! However if you broaden your market and put that same information in front of a hundred people, suddenly the odds get better. If you put the MLM business in front of a thousand, even better, and if you market it to 100,000 you can’t miss finding a lot of interested people. That’s how the “Law Of Large Numbers” works. Now since success in network marketing is a numbers game, to succeed you have to find a couple of MLM marketing strategies that will allow you to consistently generate a stream of MLM leads that flow to you on a daily basis and then develop a good way to show them the attractive points of the business. The formula is simple

( more MLM leads = more prospects = more distributors= more money)

So where do you find the best MLM leads? Well that is kind of a loaded question, since there is of course value in all lead sources, it just depends on how much work, time, and effort you want to put into sifting the leads to find the gold. Now I am going to give you a number of good MLM lead sources in a moment, but first you need to understand a little about the business process you are dealing with to be able to effectively process those leads. MLM Leads Rule #2 Analyze Your Market Think for a moment of your ideal target market. Who in fact would be interested in an MLM business where you could work out of your home, set your own hours, and have an earning potential of over $100,000 a month? Stupid Question right? Now if your brain went into overload with that question you are not alone, you see that the great part of the MLM business, it’s something that anyone can do, and probably over 50% of the population would be interested in if you can effectively get a presentation in front of them. MLM Leads Rule #3 – Don’t Sell, Promote! Now if the market is really that big then that means that finding MLM leads is pretty simple, because over 50% of the people you run into every day are prospects. Now here is where a lot of people get really frustrated because they think that their job is to sell everybody, so they go out and start hammering away trying to close prospects right and left, and if someone does not see the opportunity it’s just because they did not explain it correctly. So if anyone expresses even the slightest bit of interest, they start hounding them and then even enlist their upline to do endless 3 way calls with their prospects because they know that if they just get their prospect to open their mind for a few moments then they would see the glory of the huge opportunity and get into the deal right? Wrong………………. Look, using an “identify and sell” process is necessary if you are working in a traditional sales market where you have a large population, and a very small target market for your product. In that market every prospect is gold and you have to use sales skills to raise their level of interest and then close them. In the world of MLM leads, there are in fact so many potential prospects you will fail using that approach, not to mention you will be permanently in the NFL club (No Friends Left). Think of it this way, if in an average city like Miami where you have a population of let’s say 3 million people and over 50% are potential prospects, how long is it going to take you to give a presentation to 1 ½ million people? Well if you could give presentations 7 days a week, for 8 hours a day it would take you 187,500 days or about 513 years. Humm…. that probably won’t work So when your market is large you need to adopt a sifting and sorting approach and quickly move through your prospects using some type of automated process to sift them down to just the ones who raise their hands and say. I’m in! And everyone else can go home…. MLM Leads Rule #4 – Use Leverage & Automation Now as you can see from the previous example, doing the face to face, one on one presentations is a no-win proposition. You are limited by your process, there are simply not enough hours in the day for you to give enough presentations to sift the number of MLM lead prospects you need to find the dead serious ones. You must use MLM marketing tools to be able to give automated video presentations to your prospects (My Lead System Pro), and auto-responders (Aweber) to be able to maintain contact with your prospects and convert them over time. Technology tools like this will give you the leverage and automation you need to manage the large flow of prospects you need to have large scale success. Now once you start doing your MLM lead generation using automation and leverage tools to speed your process of sifting and sorting, remember that you mission is not to try to close everyone, it’s simply to find those where the timing in their life is right and are already highly interested in what you have to offer. Remember the key to high volume MLM lead generation is to not waste your time trying to convince those who don’t see it, you only want those who do. If someone does not see the value in your opportunity your favorite word should always be Next!... MLM Leads Rule #5 – Target Your Market Now that you see the process you need to generate large scale success in Network Marketing, let’s take a look at making the process more efficient. So there are two approaches that you can use to generate MLM lead flow, an Undifferentiated Approach in which we just figure that if 50% the market could be interested, then why not just target everyone? Now that approach will work, but you will have to go through a lot more numbers to sift down to find the quality MLM leads you really want. The other approach is called Target Marketing and with this approach you narrow the market to just those groups who you feel will have the highest percentage of MLM leads who will be interested. This in fact is what marketing is all about, not just mindlessly blasting information on your business out to everyone that moves, but finding and targeting just those who are actually looking for just what you have to offer. Examples of this would be targeting leads from Online Job Boards such as Careerbuilder or Monster since we know that everyone who has a resume sitting there is transitional and is looking. Another example would be to target the general MLM leads who are already in Network Marketing since we know how transitional that market is, and that the average time a new distributor stays with a new company before moving on to the next greatest opportunity is probably 3 to 5 months. The advantage of targeting this MLM lead market is that we already know they like the Network Marketing business and they are or were looking to generate income from home. MLM Leads Rule #6 “Fill The Pipeline” Good sales people know this success rule. Regardless of the level of leads you are generating and regardless of any automation you may be using, you must consistently push MLM leads into your sales funnel to generate sales and new distributors. Many people fail even with good MLM leads because they are not consistent in their lead generation. If you consistently generate leads on a daily basis, over time you will have an additive pipeline effect in which your MLM lead generation efforts will start throwing off more and more distributors. I have found that if I only have 5 quality conversations per day that is 25 a week or 100 a month I will consistently sponsor 8 to 12 new reps a month. If the sales funnel is more automated and you are basing your results on gross MLM leads that enter your system, then a good rule of thumb is that you should be able to convert about 3% of them to distributors in your MLM company. MLM Lead Sources Now there are many ways to generate huge MLM lead flow today, and if you have a little coaching you will be surprised how quickly you can stop the pain of MLM lead poverty and literally become a Network Marketing success story.

Crossover MLM Lead Generation Approaches

Now without question almost all of the Old School MLM Lead generation approaches have been updated based on the advent of the Internet and given some new twists that make even the Old School MLM Lead approaches more effective. I tend to refer to these as Crossover approaches since they use the old strategies but revitalized by also using the Internet in some form.

• Job Board Advertising For MLM Leads

Tired of talking to prospects who are not really looking? Part of the struggle many people have is spending way too much time chasing people who are not really interested. Your best odds will always be targeting people who are in a period of transition, and what better place to find them than on Job Boards where they have put their resume out, announcing to the world “I’m Looking”.

There are some killer ways to use big job boards to generate huge MLM lead flow. It’s pretty simple once you have some good coaching. Post the right type of opportunity ad and then direct lead flow to a sales funnel where they Opt-in to your autoresponder list and view an automated video presentation of your business and then use a form from Survey Monkey or Survey Gizmo to let interested prospects apply.

• Careerbuilder – With 30 million resumes or more there is a lot of traffic on this site. Ads generally run about $400 for a month.

• Craigs List – Huge Traffic and the best part is that if you post in the smaller cities it’s free. There are some tricks to doing this effectively but with a little coaching you can generate up to 100+ MLM leads a day.

• Resume Database Mining for MLM Leads

So when we do this type of mining we are looking for the gold but not the mineral type. The flip side of Job boards is that everyone who is looking not only checks out the ads but also posts their resume. So the strategy is to get access to a Resume Database and then start mining for gold by doing a quick search of the database for the prospects who have just the qualities you are looking for.

This is exactly what Executive Search or as they call them headhunters do and it works. Of course you are going to need a little coaching and some good scripts and then you are off to the races. Oh yes one great thing here is that these people will love that you called them, the hard part is not staying on the phone too long. Use a good script that has at least 2 sifts in it to get rid of the job seekers. There is also of course an automated way to do this.

• Buying MLM Leads (Opportunity Seeker Leads)

This is a no brainer approach but watch out what you pay. Keep in mind the quality of these leads varies dramatically. Many MLM lead vendors will actually incentivize or pay prospects to take a survey which in my book is not even a valid lead. You need to get some recommendations from someone who uses this approach and then test your MLM leads in small batches of 100 or so to verify quality.

• Real Time or Surveyed MLM leads: Costs on these can run from $1 to $9 a MLM lead or more depending on the source. I don’t recommend paying this kind of cost unless you are good on the phone or have some training in doing this and are selling a MLM opportunity that has a pretty big front end commission such as a Top Tier MLM (Family IQ, or Wealthmasters International) where the up front profits you make are high enough to offset your costs. If you are good on the phone and fill your pipeline consistently you should be able to close about 5%.

• Bulk Aged MLM Leads : These are generally the same leads you would pay several dollars for but after the leads have aged a few months or more they get pretty cheap. They best way to use these cheap MLM leads is to automated tools to do the sifting for you such as Voice Broadcasting or Bulk E mail Marketing.

• Voice Broadcasting for MLM Leads

This is an approach that I have used extensively prior to moving most of my lead generation online. It’s a killer highly leveraged approach that allows you to sift through several thousand potential prospects in about 30 min and leave you with several to as many as 30+ prospects who have all been pre-sifted, are qualified, and are waiting to speak to you.

How can MLM life be better than that? This approach uses a web based autodialer to send your opportunity message of 30 sec or so to a list of MLM leads you have purchased and then uses recorded messages about your opportunity to screen your prospects.

This approach does require some coaching to do right. There are some “do not call regulations” you need to understand so you can do it legally and also you need some really good scripts for the messages. A lot of people don’t do well with this simple because of terrible scripts.

• E Mail Marketing for MLM Leads

I bet you thought this was no longer legal with all the spam laws in effect but e mail marketing is alive and well and if you know how to do it, you can make a killing and flood yourself with MLM leads.

• Solo Ads: This is where you rent someone’s MLM leads e mail list and they send your offer to their list by way of e mail. Prices can range from $60 to as much as $600 depending on the quality. I have some private sources will send 1 Million e mails out for as cheap as $99. With a good list your click through ratio (people who actually go to your website or offer) will be 1000 to 2500 for every blast of one million sent. Now that’s a lot of eyeballs on your website! Now ad design and list quality are key factors here. Get some coaching and you will do well.

• Bulk E Mail Marketing for MLM Leads: This is where you actually buy the MLM lead list rather than rent it and then send your offer to that list. You must make sure the leads have requested information and that you have the IP address where they opted in on your data list. Also don’t try to use your webmail account or e mail program to do this, your account will be flagged by your provider. Instead you use a server based software such as JMailer to send your messages from a totally different website. I coach reps on how to successfully generate MLM leads this way also.

Online MLM Lead Generation

These are great MLM leads since you generate them yourself. There are too many approaches to list here but the advantage of leveraging your business through the internet is that there are over 1.8 billion people online today and as a result there are hundreds of millions of prospects online right now probably looking for exactly what you are promoting. Online marketing teaches you how to find that MLM Lead traffic and then how to use technology to put your message in front of them. Now these approaches do tend to take a little more study and coaching to learn but the time spent is well worth it since the skills you learn here can be applied to any business, not just MLM lead generation. Learning the tricks of Online MLM Lead generation raises the success bar quite a bit. MLM Success in this universe is measured by being able to generate 50 to 100+ leads per day. More Leads = More Distributors = More Money

Humm, better raise our financial success goals a bit higher….. If you start searching the internet for any of these approaches you will soon be flooded with “experts” offering to teach you the ropes for a few hundred dollars or so. Now if you go out and try to learn it piece by piece you will probably find yourself at the end of a year a little wiser about online MLM lead generation but you will have spent thousands of dollars doing it. MLM Tips - MLM Objections - Overcomming The No Money Problem

So today I had the opportunity to once again listen to a few prospects give me a bunch of lame reasons (MLM Objections) as to why the business was not right for them. Now if you are in the MLM business, you hear them every day, and for the MLM Pro who has been around for a few years, MLM objections are just part of the territory. That's what started me pondering what the biggest problem in the MLM universe was. Maybe problem is not the right word here, let’s rephrase that to, “what is the biggest obstacle that most people encounter in their journey to MLM success?” Wow! That thought kind of opened up a Pandora’s Box of stuff that jumped out of my mind. Now since I have been in the MLM industry for over 25 years I have seen a lot of the obstacles that people struggle with, so where do we even start? Lack of focus, lack of commitment, unrealistic expectations, wrong business model, lack of lead flow, no MLM marketing system, no business experience, no MLM business plan, and the list goes on. So this article was at that point getting ready to mutate into a 100 page book so I narrowed the focus down to……. What is the single biggest objection people have to joining you in your MLM business, and how do you overcome it? Humm…… Well in the world of MLM objections, it has to be the dread “Money Objection”. It is I believe the most frequently heard utterance in MLM objection universe. It goes something like this, “…Wow Marc, I can really see the potential of this and I would love to join you but I just don’t have the money right now”. Now when you are new in the MLM business, hearing this is kind of like a knife in your heart. I mean after listening to lots of “NO’s” you finally find someone who actually has half a brain and can see the incredible potential of your deal, but they don’t have the dam money! Arrgh…… the universe is so unfair! So how do you deal with that MLM objection, or is it really just an excuse? You know the different right?

MLM Objections

Sales 101 teaches us that an objection is a supposed statement of fact concerning the presentation you just delivered, based on erroneous conclusions or incomplete information. For example, "I don't want to be a representative of xyz MLM because network marketing is illegal." An objection is a question phrased as a statement. Recognize this, and answer it as such. A standard response would be, …”well Bob, I understand how you could feel that way, however "if I can show you that network marketing is not illegal, would you be interested in becoming a representative?" If the questions can be answered to the prospect's satisfaction, they should then become a representative. MLM Excuses MLM Objections and excuses are not the same, learn to recognize the difference. This is a big stumbling block for many people entering network marketing without sales skills. Good sales people develop an intuitive "feel" for the difference. People without experience can waste a lot of time chasing uninterested prospects. From the standpoint of MLM business building most MLM objections are probably excuses. Now believe it or not we live in a polite culture, and as a result people actually have a hard time saying the “NO” word, and as a result they just make up excuses or use the big kiss-off phrases like: “Send me some information or I will think about it”. But what about those people who your gut seems to tell you are actually interested but you just can’t seem to get them to commit? It’s kind of like herding cats, it can be a frustrating task.

MLM Objections & The Internal Priority List

Look, think about this for a moment, you could probably sit down right now and write out a list of 50 things you are interested in but you only have time, money, and attention for probably the top 2 or 3 things on that list. So for the purposes of MLM prospecting and recruiting, whenever you hear phrases like:

• “I am considering several options”
• “I have not ruled it out yet”
• “I am still considering it”
• “I have not come to a decision yet”
• “I just don’t have the money”

They all mean the same thing, ………“NO” Now there may be an interest level there, but it’s so low on their list that washing the car probably takes priority over it, so don’t waste your time. Just say “Next” and move on. The Ah-Ha Moment! Did the little light just go on in your head? Recognizing this one simple fact will save you hours and probably years of frustration in building your MLM business. MLM Lies So now your faith in human nature is probably restored, maybe all those prospects were not actually telling you lies. Your deal probably did register as something that was interesting, so they were telling the truth, it just wasn’t high enough on their internal priority list for them to take action on it. MLM Money Objection Confusion Now on the surface the MLM Money Objection seems to be different than “kiss-off” excuses so it tends to confuse the success hungry network marketer. I mean let’s face it, these people are saying “Yes”, so we want to believe them. So what is the real obstacle here? Is it really about the money? No not at all, its lack of motivation or desire. The Wrong Path Many people in network marketing hear the “No Money” MLM objection so much that they start actually believing that the money is the real issue and that if they had a product or MLM with a lower cost “buy in”, it would solve all their problems and they would be millionaires in a week. You will find these people tend to gravitate to consistently lower cost deals where the sign up fees are maybe $50 or even to the real low cost trash deals that cost $5 or so chasing the illusion of “the perfect buy in”. Now here’s a real killer, usually when they start promoting the low cost deals they find they still get the same excuses. ………….“What do you mean you don’t have $5? You see, if someone really sees the opportunity and its high enough on their priority list the cost is never really a factor. Your “buy in” could be $10,000 or $20,000 like many of the Top Tier MLM deals and if your prospect saw the opportunity and was excited they would sign up. The $5000 Corvette Story – The Power Of Intrinsic Value Now if you don’t believe this here is a quick test you can do on those “No Money” prospects. Ask your prospect if you could show them a way to quickly earn the money to join your business if they would sign up. Then tell them that you have a friend who got in trouble with the IRS and that he had just bought a brand new Corvette for cash the day before. Tell them that he is desperate for money and that if they could come up with $5000 cash by tomorrow he will sign over the $90,000 Corvette to them and they would make a killing. Now you can probably see where I am going with this right? Do you think the person who just told you they did not have the money to sign up for $500 is going to be able to come up with $5000? You better believe they are, they are going to move heaven and earth to get that $5000. Even if they don’t have it, they were going to pull out all the stops to make it happen. You see, if your prospect sees a high enough value in your opportunity nothing can keep them out, and the cost is irrelevant. Now the best way to implement this strategy is not to start studying up on sales courses so you can learn how to overcome MLM objections, but rather to study ways to implement a high volume lead generation system and bury yourself with leads. You see, with a high volume of leads you not only gain posture but you also become much more aggressive with your qualification and you no longer listen to excuses. When you no longer live in lead poverty, you only need to remember one thing: Yes means Yes, and everything else means NO

Now you probably thought this was going to be about MLM Success right?

......but lets for a moment talk ..."Time Travel" So stick with me here for a few seconds even if you are not a big Sci-Fi fan like I am because I am going to actually make a point about MLM success. That's me on the right by the way... So there I was at 20 years old and my life was decided, I had it all mapped out. My success path was so clear that I could taste it. Fame and fortune was going to be mine and commercial diving was going to put me there. So I learned all kinds of great stuff like how to weld underwater and blow stuff up, and basically be a salvage diver. The next stop.... treasure hunter and I could close my eyes and see the ocean floor littered with gold bars...... So now fast forward about 30 years and I did of course find the gold but not on the ocean floor. Success came in a path and direction that I could never have imagined at the time because I just didn't know what I didn't know. When success finally came roaring through the door, it was first in the real estate industry and then of course a huge home run in the world of MLM success. Now finding that path took quite a while, and I often think of how much pain, suffering, and bad business models I could have avoided if I could have just taken a peek into the future just for a moment. Would I have done it? Taken that peek into the future? Humm.....
